It's Gooseberry Time...

Well it's that time again. We recently picked the gooseberries. My mom harvested them this year. I'm kind of sad because for many many years my grandpa would come to pick them. But this year he's not feeling well, he just keeps getting slower and older. :(
I weighed the crop. This year we got 5.5 lbs. I think our bush is slowing down too. The biggest crop ever was 12 lbs. Our bush is getting old too. Mom grew it from just a bare root shoot that comes in a box many many years ago.
Here are some of our biggest berries. I hope either grandma of mom make a pie for the 4th of July.

When mom was picking she noticed there were two branches that had touched the ground and begun to take root. So I helped her plant them in a pot.
Hopefully these will grow into two new bushes. The baby gooseberry bushes will be going to our friends in Wisconsin, if they make it.

Hopefully the next time you see me, my post will be my visit to Marlowe.

This is me trying to wait patiently to hear back from him. I hope it's soon.

Grr-bye for now,
