Look what I saw...

I was checking on the mums in mom's front flowerbed.
When suddenly I spied something I've never seen before. Do you see it?

Look closely...
It's a BIG spider! I can't say that I like spiders,

but this one sure caught my eye. Did you ever see a black and yellow spider?
I looked it up online, it's a Black and Yellow Garden Spider. It says they are one of the largest in Illinois, I've never seen one before. My photo doesn't do the yellow justice, it was really bright yellow. Tee hee, I think he was pretty ticked with the camera's flash by the time I got a good hand the number of pictures she took to get a good shot.

Can't believe it's Labor Day weekend already. Where did the Summer go? Hope you have a great weekend! We are expecting the remnants of hurricane Issac to arrive in drought stricken Illinois, hopefully the farmers will be happy. Though, I think it's a little too late for their crops.

Grr-bye for now,

Ick... that is a beary large spider! Be careful around spiders, some of them bite... and if they are big enough, they could wrap you up in a big cocoon!
Better get out your umbrella too... Not sure where the summer went either!

Wow, that is a beary big spider! We've never seen one before, but I bet it's a good spider, because they catch and eat harmful bugs!
