Beep, beep, beep...buzz, buzz, buzz...

On the morning of the day after Christmas we heard the beep, beep, beep of a truck backing up. Which sent me and my little brother Scruffy running to see what was happening.
There do you see it?

There was a big city truck outside our house.
I opened the front door to see if I could see better.
"Shut the door Buttons, it's cold out there" hollered mom.
Dad took some pictures when he went outside to tell the men they were going to have to move the truck with the chipper shredder. It was blocking the driveway, and he had to go to work.
The men were here to take one of our maple trees down. You can see fungus growing on the trunk of the tree. Not sure what it's called, but it was a kind of fungus disease that kills trees.

We wanted to go outside to watch because the big crab apple tree was blocking our view. But mom told us no. She had to run an errand, the men had to move their truck again to let her out of the driveway too.
We mostly heard a lot of buzzing from the saw as the man in the cherry picker cut the branches and limbs.
"Bye-bye tree" moaned Scruffy.
By the time mom got home, the men were nearly finished raking up the branch debris.
Of course, they had to stop and move the truck again to let mom in.
The top portion of the tree was gone, but the trunk was still standing. Guess it's removal remained for another crew, another day. We can now see our across the street neighbors much clearer.

Grr-bye for now,

Buttons

Great adventure Buttons! I can see why you and Scruffy would be glued to the window all day.
