A week behind and on time too...

I'm running a week behind in getting my secrabeary to type my posts. But I can't fire her, she's my mom and Sunday is Mother's Day. Ahhh, but I am on time for the Kentucky Derby. If you read to the end I'll give you a special pie recipe to celebrate the day.

Early last Friday morning, long before daylight...

a group of us bears gathered to watch the Royal Wedding.

A friend gave mom this prince outfit recently. Buster was the lucky bear of the right girth to wear it.
I suppose that you all noticed in the previous picture, mom made me get dressed up too, moms.
It was so early, 3 am and Barnes was so sleepy. Buffy let him rest in her lap while he watched and waited for the main event.
Katherine Middleton and her dad leaving for the Abby. The girls couldn't wait to get a look at her dress.
Meanwhile, Princes William and Harry arrived and were escorted to a side room to wait.

Prince Charles and Camilla arrived.
Then Queen Elizabeth arrived.
Buffy and Sierra ooo'd and ahhhh'd over Katherine's dress. They were shocked that Pippa's maid of honor dress was white too.
"Wake-up Barnes, here we go, the bride is going into the Abby." said Buffy.
The Princes move to take their places.
When Prince WIlliam leaned toward Katherine and said "You look beautiful!" The girls all swooned and gushed.
I moved over to get a closer look at the trumpeters and to talk with "Prince" Buster. I wanted to make sure his prince suit wasn't going to his head.
The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge.
You might think this picture is blurry, but you would be wrong. click on it to see it larger. My beartographer caught the transition from one camera to another. It looks like a double ex-poser.
They are official, they've just signed the registee
The newly weds riding in the open carriage.
What a lot of people.
The Royal smootch!
"Mom the people are all going home now. Can Buster and I change our clothes yet?" asked Buttons.
"Not now Buttons" said mom "I need a royal nap"

The 137th Run for the Roses the Kentucky Derby is later today. I promised you a delicious pie recipe. I might have shared a picture of this pie last year, but I don't think I ever shared the recipe. If I did, I apologize for the repeat. This is a beary rich and delicious pie.

Hi Buttons. I think you looked great and Buster was more handsome a prince than Wills.
Will you dress up for mother's day? Don't forget your Mom should be given breakfast in bed and receive a huge bouquet or box of chocs.
Our mother's day was a few weeks ago, but we wish your Mom, and all other US Moms, a VERY HAPPY AND RELAXING DAY!
