National Button Day...

Today is National Button Day! I know, I just celebrated Count Your Buttons Day last month. So deciding what to do to mark this auspicious occasion has been difficult.

Sierra Rose suggested I count the buttons on the dress mom just finished making for her.
In this photo there are seven buttons. Do you see them?
Two on the front.

One on the back, I just think she wanted to show off her new dress. She got to go with mom the other day to one of her sewing clubs as show and tell.

Cocoa and I searched for the buttons that are pins. This is what we came up with.
Five of them have bears on them

I even found one that has a picture of mom when she was a little girl. They had one of those button machines like Sullivan used to make buttons with his picture on.
There are several with bears on them.
I wonder if the one with mom on it counts?
Heehee, my nose is on my toes!
It has a mirror on the back. Oh well.

I had to be so careful with the hot glue gun.
Then mom let me make a button card from buttons from her button boxes.
Mom almost put these on my dress.
Sierra Rose said she was helping me find buttons. I think she was dreaming of a Christmas dress. Maybe if mom has time.

I hope you take some time today to appreciate some buttons of your own.

Well grr-bye for now,

Buttons

My mom has lots of buttons in a glass jar. Maybe I ought to talk her into letting me make a craft project out of them too!

Thanks Hammie, I had fun making it.

Marlowe, if your mom lets you make a button craft, be sure to use a cool temp hot glue gun. Sounds funny, cool temp hot, ha ha. Mom says it is safest for bears with fur and for the buttons if you ever want to use them for their intended purpose.
