Our feathered nursery...

I have been so busy checking on the baby robins.
I'm wearing camoflauge, in hopes that Mr. & Mrs. Robin don't see and dive bomb me.

There they are, the young ones.
I also made a discovery while out checking on the robins.
I found an eggshell near our burning bush. It's cream color with mottled brown spots. Then mom said she heard cheeping when she was trimming our burning bush.
Yep, there's the nest, there are three baby cardinals too.
I took up perch of my own and settled in to bird watch.
There's Mrs. Robin, she's
looking for worms.
Mr. Cardinal is keeping a close watch,
he and the Mrs. are taking turns feeding the babies.
I also saw some Chickadees and a Gold Finch, they were too fast to get pictures.
I had a beary nice day of bird watching,
I found also found a robin's eggshell.

My dad checked on the baby cardinals the other day, two of the three babies were gone and he said there were 3 more eggs in the nest. I went here to read about the nesting habits of the cardinals. Dad said that he wants to keep the robins from doing a second batch in their current location. I think he doesn't like getting dive bombed every time he tries to get out his mower or go to the shed for something for mom.

Well grr-bye from baby bird central,

Buttons

I hope all your baby birds live to adulthood! We had some baby cardinals last year-- I didn't seem them as babies, but half red fledglings!

Oh Buttons! Your Uncle Pete and I just love Cardinals! Thanks for posting these pictures of them. By the way, I really like your "perch" in the back yard, looks like a comfortable bench. Your binoculars look kinda like my Dad's pair.

Sorry to hear about you Dad getting "dive bombed."

Love you!

Our baby sparrows have made it. That doesn't happen too often, so we are excited.

Looks like your robins and cardinals are doing well. Cool birdwatching outfit AND bench.

(Mommy and the Garden Gals' eyes lit up and they came running over to see, when we mentioned "burning bush." They had to s'plain tu us that the branches turned red in winter. Ummmm, red isn't burning. Fire burns?!)

Ya know, if your Daddy just skips mowing the lawn, the robins will like him more. Just saying...but we don't have a lawn, so Mommy is laughing at our suggestion.
