Teddy Bears for Haiti...

Ever since the earthquake struck Haiti I have been beary concerned about the people effected by it. The children who have lost so beary much. Being a bear, I know from my Comfort and Security 101 class that teddy bears can be very comforting to children who have been traumatized. Comfort and Security 101 is a required course at all Teddy Bear Birthing Centers. So I asked mom if there was a Teddy Bear Drive to collect teddy bears to send to the children of Haiti? She suggested I look online

What do you de-deck the halls with?...

The other morning I pushed up my sleeves to help mom with the de-decking of the halls. I started with the flying angels.

Come on it's time...

Can you tell that Barnes is excited to have Barnsie here with us? Scruffy is spending the Holidays with us.
Hoping that next week I can get my Christmas post done, I was a busy bear. In the mean time HAPPY NEW BEAR to you ALL!

Snow Bears...

It snowed here on Saturday. After Scruffy went home I begged mom and dad to let me go out to play. Dad said he'd take me out. Mom said I had to bundle-up.

I got my coat on, I borrowed the boots from Tigg.

Reasons for not blogging...

Hope everyone had a Merry Christmas yesterday. I did, thought I'd just share a few photos from Christmas Eve.

Remembear I showed you mom was stitching baby Jesus on Ethan's stocking with her new embroidery machine?

Ethan joined our family just before Christmas last year, so mom made him his stocking this year.

Do you want to see it?

Christmas is coming...

Christmas is coming faster and faster every day. I have been begging mom to help me post, because it has been so long. But she has been sew beary busy. She has been glued to her new sewing machine, practically since she got it. It's supposed to be her Christmas present, but some people can't wait.
She has been hard at work making little Ethan a stocking. She said it it taking so long because she is still learning how to use the computer software for her embroidery. She has been sewing some other gifts too. I don't think any of them are for me yet,

A Bear Day Wish...

I put on my party hat to attend my friend Sir Woodstock's Bear Day party.

The invitation said wear a fancy hat. I hope getting all dressed up in my suit, makes up for my hat not being so fancy.

Woodstock, I wish you many happy returns of the day on your special day! Now, where is the cake? And is it chocolate?

Things around here have become quite a mess. It's the annual transition from fall to Christmas decorations, looks like a bomb went off. Mom said no pictures till she gets things under control.

She is going to be busier than she has been the last couple of weeks. She got a new sewing machine, it embroiders. Sewing machines have taken a quantum leap since she got her last one 20 years ago. So, she is spending a lot of time learning all the bells and whistles of the machine and software. She says that teaching an old bear new tricks may take some time. Her first project is to make the grand nephew Ethan a Christmas stocking. She says when it's done I can show it to you. In the meantime...I'll keep hoping for her to make me some more cool clothes.

This bear is thankful for...

Just like the pilgrims were thankful for the feast they shared with the Indians, as a bear I am thankful for...

Honey...
I am thankful for honey. Around here, there are so many bears, that mom and dad always use code when speaking of honey. They call it "H", I think they are afraid of a bearpede.

Last flowers, the last tenants...

Saturday the weather was still mild, and I begged mom to let me go outside. She said yes, so I put my hoodie on and went out in the front yard. I looked to see if there were any flowers

still growing after the heavy frost we had the other night. The hearty mums and the alyssum are still hanging in there. Mom says alyssum is supposed to be an annual flower. But ours

Candy B. Corn's search for candy corn...

We have a couple of new visitors from Bear Tower in Chicago. Brother T brought them out when he came for dinner and to take Scruffy home with him. I heard there are lots of bears that live there I haven't met yet.

Cocoa has been getting to know Buddy Bear. I was just about to join them when I saw this.

Scruffy's puppy, new door and old sink...

As you know, my little brother Scruffy has been visiting again. Well, the other day, mom came home with a surprise for him. She knows how much my Brother T wants a dog. He really is so busy and not home enough to care for one right now. She also knew that Scruffy shares the same dream. So, when she had what she's calling "the puppy adoption option" with her Happy Meal*, she knew just what to do. She thought Scruffy should be the one to have him.

Scruffy was so excited. Mom told him he'd have to get permission

Fall and Apple Picking...

Fall is my favorite time of year! We had an early hard frost on Saturday night it was mid to upper 20's. Brrrrrr! The weatherbears said it was unseasonably cold, it usually doesn't get this cold till Novembear.

Last Sunday was a beautiful crisp fall day. The trees are really just starting to change by us. But after that cold snap they will be changing fast. Mom was wanting to take a ride and see if there was more color on the trees. So dad drove us north to Woodstock to see what we could see. On the way we did see a few trees that were changing.

We ooooooo'd and ahhhhh'd appropriately.

Visiting, Art and New Bear Orientation...

Visiting:
Recently we took a little ride up to my Aunt and Uncle's. We had to deliver a rug. Scruffy and I took the opportunity to visit with the Peoria Girls, Allysa and Winnie. Perhaps, they should now be known as the girls formerly from Peoria.

Allysa introduced Scruffy to her little friend, Odie.

A momma black bear with her paws full...

A friend of moms, who also loves bears, sent us a forwarded email. It's about a momma black bear in New Hampshire, and a photographer named Tom Sears.

His story goes like this:

Hidden feelings...

Bearthday cakes just keep getting more and more creative don't they?

This cartoon arrived in my email back in August. I was reminded of it when my friend Woodstock recently posted a rather twisted cartoon. I realize, that I already referenced his cartoon previously, thank-you for your indulgence. I'm not sure which is more disturbing. Hummmmm, maybe in this case it's just a matter of forgiveness?

Still busy orientating new bears around here. I'll report more on that front next time.

It's Panda-monia here today!!

New Bear Orientation has started. I decided to start with the pandas. Silly me, I thought their orientation and assimilation would go quickly. As you can see it has erupted into panda-monia!!

Thank goodness, my brother Scruffy is here to help me gain control over the situation. Scruffy came for another visit over the weekend. Brother T has some business trips over the next several weeks and Scruffy decided he wanted to stay with us. I love it when he comes to visit,
